Models Under Management

Wyatt with IMG Models in New York

Timing is everything, and so difficult to explain to anyone why, how and when it will happen. The time and experience of watching many models make the transformation has given me great satisfaction. It is something we see and just know. One of the best parts of my job is watching young women actually turn the corner into becoming  a model. It is that time for Wyatt. After a month in New York this summer, her agency, IMG was and is very excited about Wyatt’s return to NY and we are making plans for her next step.

Introducing Anna C. from Maryland

Anna is an outdoor girl who surfs and lives by the ocean. At 14 years old and 5’7″ with a size 10 shoe, we can’t wait to see her when she is as tall as the rest of her family. Her very first test with Oliver McAvoy.

Brittney Miles by Scott Jung

Brittney recently was in San Francisco working with Stars Model Management. While there she worked with a young photographer who was working on a personal project for a class. We love when our models understand that “testing” is about learning, and not always about “getting” something. The process of testing is so that you learn how to behave on set, work with a lot of different personalities, and learn how to move. The job of modeling is not just about being tall and pretty. We appreciate the model who, no matter how difficult it is, applies herself to the process of taking pictures regardless of the outcome. Enough good test shots, and then you may get paid for all of your hard work.

A Mother’s Thank You

Trudi,

I read, “Age Does Matter” you posted on your site.  I must tell you that I agree 110% with everything you wrote.

I have a 14-year-old daughter that also does modeling here and there, as you know, and I guide her with the same principles as yours. When I share your words with Shannan, she always agrees with your opinion.  She trusts you even though we live far away, and we value your knowledge so much.

To me, it gives me peace of mind that I am taking her in the right direction by letting her be a “model” sometimes, and really waiting for you to help her when the time is right. To Shannan, it gives her strength to be patient by really understanding the process. She is getting some experience she can use  to continue the journey and work full time as a model when she grows up.

This is a note, just to say “Thank You” again for you being a great professional and a wonderful person. I hope all the inspired teenagers, who want to work as a full time model one day, and their parents, have a chance to read your words about age and modeling, just like Shannan and I did.

Sincerely,

Ursula and Shannan
